在时任SAP公司CTO史维学博士（Dr. Vishal Sikka）的支持下，成立“华东师范大学云计算和大数据研究中心”。

华东师范大学在全国率先成立“数据科学与工程研究院”（简称：大数据研究院），作为学校的二级独立实体。

 the Institute for Data Science & Engineering (also known as the Institute for Big Data) was set up, as an independent subsidiary unit at ECNU.

在原“数据科学与工程研究院”的基础上成立“数据科学与工程学院”（简称：数据学院），建成“数据科学与工程”从本科到博士的培养体系。

the School of Data Science & Engineering was established, on the basis of the Institute for Data Science & Engineering. A comprehensive training program on data science & engineering was set up, covering the curriculums for Bachelor, Master 2and Ph.D.

招收第一届数据科学与工程专业本科生。

原计算中心并入数据学院，成立计算机科学教育教学部；获批我国首个数据方向的一流本科专业。

Establishment of the Department of Computer Science Education, following the merge of the former Computing Center into DaSE.

Enlistment of DaSE in the National First-Class Undergraduate Training Programs, as the first enlisted Data Science Program national wide.

华东师范大学自设“数据科学与工程”一级学科。
